A Coconut Story

Without diving deeper into the variety of fruits and vegetables that grow on local islands, we’d like to share our love for coconuts with you. This so-called “tree of life” is deserving of its name for the sole reason that there is a use for every part of the tree. The tree provides food, cosmetics, building material and so much more.

In the upcoming 5 articles we will provide a greater understanding of palm trees, the coconut fruit, the 12 stages of coconut development and use in Maldivian cuisine, other uses, proverbs and a piece of history.
